- Belmont NH - Planning and Zoning Administrator
The Town of Belmont (population 7500), centrally located in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Planning & Zoning Coordinator. Working under the direction of the Planning Board, the Planner provides management, leadership, and coordination to the planning, engineering, zoning, code enforcement, and economic development activities of the Town. - Sunapee NH - Highway Director

- Berlin NH - Housing Authority Executive Director
The Berlin, New Hampshire Housing Authority is seeking a progressive, proactive Executive Director to follow the long serving incumbent upon her retirement. The City of Berlin, with a population of approximately 9500, lies along the banks of the Androscoggin River. Located in the White Mountains Region of NH and just 60 miles from Quebec, Berlin is the hub of New Hampshire’s North Country and the many recreational opportunities the region offers.
The Executive Director is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Berlin Housing Authority and is appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The Executive Director is responsible for managing a Housing Authority that generates approx. $1 mil in revenue, with an operating budget of approx. $825k, and employees an additional 4 FT and 1 PT employees. In addition, the Executive Director is the Management Agent for Lancaster and Northumberland Housing Authorities. Currently the Housing Authority own 55 units of public housing, manages an additional 42-unit building that it is in the process of buying, and administers approx. 378 vouchers across Berlin, Northumberland and Lancaster.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, personnel management or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience at the managerial/executive level in public or private housing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates probability of success in the position. - Middleton MA - Town Administrator

- Merrimack NH - Director of Public Works
The Town of Merrimack, New Hampshire (population approx. 27,000) is seeking an experienced Public Works professional to lead its Department of Public Works which includes divisions of Administration & Engineering, Highway, Wastewater, Solid Waste, Equipment Maintenance and Building & Grounds. Ideally located along the MA border, Merrimack is just one hour from all the health, cultural and educational opportunities available in Boston MA yet just an hour or less from the recreational opportunities found in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, White Mountains and Seacoast.
The Director reports to the Town Manager and with a total budget of over $12 mil, oversees 63 FT and 5 PT employees. - Ossipee NH - Police Chief
The Town of Ossipee, New Hampshire (population approx. 5000) is seeking qualified, proactive candidates to serve as its next Police Chief. Ossipee, located within the Lakes Region, is ideally situated along Route 16, the main route into the White Mountains Region of NH just a short drive to the north. The NH Seacoast is just 50 miles to the south. Ossipee is the county seat and is comprised of 3 “villages” spanning approximately 75 square miles. The Police Chief reports to the Board of Selectmen through the Town Administrator and will be expected to maintain excellent communications with them. The Chief leads a department of 8 FT officers, 3 PT officers and a FT administrative assistant with an operating budget of $1,250,000. Given the size of the department the Chief may be required to respond for calls as necessary.

- Plaistow NH - Police Chief
The Town of Plaistow, New Hampshire (pop. 7,900) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of full-time Police Chief. Located on the MA-NH border this community is just 20 miles from the Seacoast and 40 miles to Boston. Covering about 10 square miles, its booming retail, commercial and industrial base makes Plaistow a “destination” community.
The Police Department is staffed with 16 full-time Sworn, 6 full-time safety dispatchers, and 4 unsworn personnel. The Department has a current operating budget of approx. $2,000,000. The Chief is expected to perform all the usual administrative and management duties of a traditional Police Chief and actively respond to calls for service as may be necessary. The Police Chief is appointed by and reports to the Town Manager.

- Newton NH - Finance Administrator
The Town of Newton, New Hampshire (population approx. 4600) is seeking an experienced municipal finance specialist/payroll administrator. Although traditionally a part-time position, the Town is flexible in offering this as a fulltime position to meet the needs of the right candidate. Newton is located in southeast NH bordering Haverhill MA and Plaistow NH. It has an SB2 town meeting form of government with a 5-member Board of Selectmen and the position reports to the Town Administrator. Newton employs a workforce comprised of approximately 13 FT/64 PT employees and has an operating budget of approximately $3.7 million.
The successful candidate should have experience with finance administration, general accounting practices and municipal finance software (AccuFund preferred) designed for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and grants management. Associates degree in accounting or related field and experience in municipal finance preferred; OR equivalent combination of experience and education which demonstrates an ability to be successful in the position. The hourly pay range for this position part-time is $25.00 - $29.00; wages for fulltime position are negotiable and starting wages will be commensurate with qualifications. - Berlin MA - Fire/EMS Chief
The Town of Berlin MA (pop. 3,158) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Fire/EMS Chief. This position is becoming vacant after a well-respected Massachusetts Fire Chief completed the transition of fire and EMS services into a single fire rescue organization. The new fire chief will consider if the Department should advance to the advanced life support (ALS) level.
The Town of Berlin is located 40 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts and the Department covers an area of 13.1 square miles from a public safety complex. The Town is a prosperous and growing community with an expanding residential and commercial base. The Department is an ISO Class 8 full-service fire/rescue and EMS organization that has a total of 4 fulltime personnel, 41 fire/EMS/Emergency Management personnel, of which 22 are EMT’s. The Fire Chief also serves as the EMD. There are a total of approximately 750 fire and EMS calls per year. The current annual operating budget of the Fire Department is approximately $815,465.
The Fire Chief is appointed by the Select Board and is a strong chief appointed under MGL Chapter 48, section 42. Candidates must have strong leadership and managerial skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A proven, successful record of experience in progressively responsible supervisory, administrative and command assignments is also required.
Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college, Master’s Degree highly preferred; 7-10 years of municipal fire/rescue experience and at least 2 years of experience as a chief fire officer in a comparable or larger organization; at least 5 years as an active EMT with Massachusetts/National EMT certification (paramedic preferred); and the ability to serve as a full time Chief for at least 5 years. The chief must have completed ICS 400, 800a and have the ability to become a credentialed Massachusetts Fire Chief or Executive Fire Officer graduate and certified as a Pro Board Fire Officer IV within one year of appointment.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas: budgeting, crafting collaborative interagency relationships, pacing change, fireground management, incident command and emergency management.
Hiring range is $100,000 - $135,000 depending upon qualifications.

- Wiggin Memorial Library, Stratham NH - Library Director
The Wiggin Memorial Library in Stratham, NH, is seeking a dynamic and talented Library Director with proven management skills and excellent library knowledge to provide leadership in its vibrant community library. Stratham is a town of about 8,000 residents and is located in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire, between Exeter and Portsmouth.
The Library Director is responsible for the management, direction and administration of the Wiggin Memorial Library, including all library services, personnel, policies, outreach, and programs. The ideal candidate is community oriented, forward thinking, comfortable with technology, and has a personable, positive disposition. Additionally, the incumbent has demonstrated success aligning people, process and technology; excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer relationship skills; and is committed to excellent patron service. The Library Director works closely with other town departments as well as the Library Board of Trustees.
The position is an exempt, full-time position with a salary range of $80,000-$100,000, starting salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. An MLS/MLIS or a master’s degree in a field related to management, business, or public administration with at least 5-7 years of experience as a librarian some of which as a managing librarian. - Yarmouth, MA - Fire Chief
The Town of Yarmouth, Massachusetts (pop. 25,000) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Fire Chief. Yarmouth is a dynamic coastal resort community located on scenic Cape Cod, the Department covers a response area of 28.2 square miles and operates from three stations. The Department has an ISO rating of Class 3/3X. The organization employs approximately 70 fulltime employees with an operating budget of approximately 8.0 million. In 2021 the Department responded to 7,567 emergency calls.
Appointed by the Board of Selectmen and under the administrative oversight of the Town Administrator, the Fire Chief serves as a key member of the Town’s management team. A Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Homeland Security, Business or Public Administration is required, Master’s preferred. It is also preferred that candidates have completed the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, Mass Chief Fire Officer Training Program and have appropriate ProBoard certifications. Candidates should be credentialed as a Massachusetts Fire Chief or have the ability to become credentialed upon appointment.
Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of experience in career fire service, as well as a minimum of five years of command and supervisory experience at the level of a shift commander or above. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas: budgeting; collaborative interagency relationships; labor management relations in a unionized environment; and fire, EMS and emergency management. The salary range is $139,582 – $191,647 plus benefits depending upon qualifications and experience.

- Village of Johnson Vermont - Village Water-Light General Manager
The Village of Johnson Vermont is seeking candidates with the right combination of municipal and utilities management to serve as its Village and Utilities General Manager. An experienced manager of an electric utility with skills that could be applied to the general management of the village would be the ideal candidate since approximately 60%-70% of the position is committed to managing the utilities. The Village of Johnson is comprised of about one square mile within the Town of Johnson and serves approximately 950 electric customers and 450 water and sewer accounts. Village is responsible for the electric utility, it also oversees the water and sewer departments, whose work is contracted to an outside vendor. The Village employs 5 “linesmen” and shares four office staff with the Town of Johnson. Johnson, the quintessential “Norman Rockwell” community is nestled in the Green Mountains of North/Central Vermont.
For the right candidate this would be a full-time position with a salary range to $100k and a generous benefits package; starting salary commensurate with qualifications.
