- Newport, VT - City Manager
The City of Newport Vermont (pop. 4500) is seeking enthusiastic, experienced candidates to serve as its next City Manager. - Westminster VT - Town Manager
Westminster, VT (3200 pop.) is seeking an experienced municipal manager with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong background in municipal finance to serve as its next Town Manager. Vermont’s oldest existing town, this quintessential New England community sits along the beautiful Connecticut River in Southeastern Vermont, bordering New Hampshire and is comprised of two villages. Although a mostly rural setting of farms and forests, Westminster is crossed by Interstate 91 and US Route 5 providing easy access to all the assets of larger communities such as Brattleboro, 20 miles to the south, and all the cultural, educational, and medical assets of Lebanon NH, fewer than 50 miles to the north.
Reporting to a 5-member Select Board, the Town Manager oversees an operating budget of approximately $2.6 million and 10 full-time positions supplemented by part-time staff. The Town is served by a volunteer Fire/Rescue service and although it does not have its own police department, a Vermont State Police Barracks is in town.
Like most small New England communities, the Town Manager is expected to wear many hats; administration/supervision, human resources, and finance. Finance administration is critical, so preference will be given to candidates with strong municipal finance backgrounds. The ideal candidate will also be a strong communicator with a collaborative management style.
An advanced college degree in a related field, with progressively responsible public management experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. - Webster MA - Deputy Fire Chief
The Town of Webster, Massachusetts (pop. 17,027) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Webster is a growing central Massachusetts community which is home to the third largest body of fresh water in the Commonwealth. The Department covers a response area of 14.5 square miles and operates from two stations. The Department has an ISO rating of Class 4/4Y. The organization employs approximately 14 full-time and 16 on-call employees with an operating budget of approximately 1.2 million. In 2022 the Department responded to 803 emergency calls.
Appointed by the Town Administrator and reports directly to the Fire Chief, the Deputy Fire Chief serves as a key member of the Department’s management team. A bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Homeland Security, Business or Public Administration is required.
It is preferred that candidates have completed Mass Chief Fire Officer Training Program. Candidates are required to be ProBoard certified as Firefighter I/II, Fire Officer I/II and have Incident safety officer and hazardous materials training. Candidates should also be an EMT – B (paramedic preferred) and have completed NIMS ICS 100, 200 and 300. Candidates should be credentialed as a Massachusetts Fire Chief or could become credentialed upon appointment.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of related fire service experience and three years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, licensure, and experience. The salary range is $85,000-94,000 plus benefits depending upon qualifications and experience.

- Northwood NH - Town Administrator
Northwood, NH (approx. pop. 4,600) is seeking an individual with demonstrated organizational, administrative and management skills to serve as its next Town Administrator. This is a full-time position that requires a strong knowledge of and adherence to State statutes, local ordinances and to the associated documentation and reporting requirements. Northwood has worked hard to move the community in a positive direction and is looking to build upon the successes in key position hires, financial software and controls, road rebuilding / maintenance, and recreation fields improvements. Approximately $1 M is also approved annually for roads, equipment, and community initiatives. Several large capital projects will be under consideration in the coming years. The Town Administrator reports to a five-member Board of Selectmen. This is an SB-2 community with a February Deliberative Session/March Election that has also adopted the Municipal Budget Act and therefore has a Budget Committee. Strong leadership, communication and community engagement skills are essential. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years municipal management experience is desired. - Wellesley MA - Fire Chief
The Town of Wellesley, Massachusetts (pop. 28,747) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Fire Chief. Located 15 miles west of Boston in the Metrowest region, the Wellesley Fire Department which is an active member of Metrofire organization covers a response area of 10.4 square miles and operates from two stations. The Department has an ISO rating of Class 2. The organization employs 53 fulltime uniformed non-civil service employees with an operating budget of approximately 6.3 million. In 2022 the Department responded to 4,053 calls, including 1,849 EMS/motor vehicle crash (MVC) calls.
Appointed by the Select Board and under the oversight of the Executive Director, the Fire Chief serves as a key member of the Town’s leadership team. Bachelors Degree and Chief Fire Officer Training required, however advanced degrees in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Homeland Security, Business or Public Administration are expected. It is also preferred that candidates have completed the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. Candidates should be credentialed as a Massachusetts Fire Chief or have the ability to become credentialed upon appointment.
Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of experience in career fire service, as well as a minimum of five years of command and supervisory experience at the level of a shift commander or above. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas: budgeting; collaborative inter-agency relationships; labor management relations in a unionized environment; and fire, EMS and emergency management. The salary range is $195,000 - $215,000 depending upon qualifications and experience.

- Leicester MA - EMS Director
The Town of Leicester, Massachusetts (Population 11,314), is seeking to fill the position of Emergency Medical Services Director. This is a unique opportunity as a stable long term part time position. The Town of Leicester is conveniently located in Central Massachusetts with easy access to Worcester and the Massachusetts Turnpike, the Town covers 28 square miles. Known for recreational opportunities and a strong commercial/industrial base, the Town is considered to be a vibrant and attractive community.
2022 operational volume includes the response to 2,246 EMS calls (2,127 emergency calls) resulting in 1,507 patient transports, and 119 inter facility transfers. Specific to EMS, The Town employees approximately 60 license providers including: 4 fulltime EMS providers and 56 per diem or on-call personnel. Currently there are four EMS Lieutenants which serve as operational supervisors. This staffing complement includes 19 paramedics, 1 AEMT and 36 basic EMTs. The organization has a 1.2-million-dollar annual operating budget.
The EMS Director reports to the Fire Chief who is the head of the Leicester Emergency Medical Services Department. The Director and serves as a key member of the command staff and leadership team. Candidates must have strong, innovative leadership, conflict resolution, planning and managerial skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communications skills and a sense of social responsibility. A proven, successful record of experience in progressively responsible leadership, administrative and EMS related supervisory assignments is required.
Minimum qualifications include: Massachusetts EMT-Basic certification or higher (paramedic preferred). Advanced EMS education (associates degree preferred) At least 5 years’ experience in EMS service with prior leadership experience, the successful candidate must also have or be able to obtain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas; budgeting, crafting collaborative interagency relationships, labor management relations, pacing change, incident command and emergency management.
Hourly compensation is $30.38 per hour based on an average 28 hour work week ($44,233 per year) adjusted by an annual COLA increase. Residency within Worcester County or within 30 air miles of of the Town of Leicester is required within 12 months of appointment.

- Weare, NH - Fire Chief (Part time)
The Town of Weare, NH (Pop 9,156), is seeking an experienced fire officer for the position of part- time fire chief. Weare is a suburban community located southwest of Concord. Weare is centrally located in proximity to both Concord, and Manchester. The Chief is expected to work 24 -32 hours per week to maintain regular office hours, respond to emergencies when on-duty, attend training sessions and to be available for emergency call-backs. The Chief is required to reside (or establish residency within a year) in the Town of Weare or within 15 miles.
The Chief is appointed by the Board of Firewards. The Chief works under the general guidance and direction of the Board of Fire Wards. He/she also works closely with the Town Administrator who acts as the liaison to the Board of Selectmen. The ideal candidate will be a strong proven leader that has experience building positive relationships and recruiting fire service personnel.
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the fire service, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience and have completed a Bachelors’ Degree in Fire Science or a related field of study. The Chief is required to be certified firefighter II, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I, EMT-B and maintain an New Hampshire Driver’s License (CDL required). A combination of appropriate education and experience which demonstrates possession of required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
The Weare Fire Department is comprised of a combination of both on-call and career personnel who are responsible for providing fire, rescue and EMS first response.
Compensation range: $67,500 - $72,000 commensurate with training and experience.

- Newton NH - Finance Administrator
The Town of Newton, New Hampshire (population approx. 4600) is seeking an experienced municipal finance specialist/payroll administrator. Although traditionally a part-time position, the Town is flexible in offering this as a fulltime position to meet the needs of the right candidate. Newton is located in southeast NH bordering Haverhill MA and Plaistow NH. It has an SB2 town meeting form of government with a 5-member Board of Selectmen and the position reports to the Town Administrator. Newton employs a workforce comprised of approximately 13 FT/64 PT employees and has an operating budget of approximately $3.7 million.
The successful candidate should have experience with finance administration, general accounting practices and municipal finance software (AccuFund preferred) designed for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and grants management. Associates degree in accounting or related field and experience in municipal finance preferred; OR equivalent combination of experience and education which demonstrates an ability to be successful in the position. The hourly pay range for this position part-time is $25.00 - $29.00; wages for fulltime position are negotiable and starting wages will be commensurate with qualifications.
