Brian Pattullo

Brian Pattullo began his career as a Patrolman with the Andover Police Department in July 1981. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1991 and then appointed to the position of Chief of Police in March 1998. Under Chief Pattullo’s direction, the Department was frequently recognized for its professionalism, integrity and outstanding service.

 

In his tenure as Police Chief, he was an active member of many law enforcement organizations and related groups.  He was Chair of the North East Regional Homeland Security Council (NERAC) where he was actively involved in school safety and security as well as the implementation of the Automated Critical Assessment Management System (ACAMS).  He participated in a pilot group with other Chiefs that developed the School Threat Assessment and Response System (STARS) that is currently in use on a State and National level. Additionally, as Chair of NERAC he played an integral role in the development of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and Continuity of Government (COG) plans which can be utilized by municipal and private institutions. Chief Pattullo served as Director of the Emergency Management as well as the Local Emergency Planning Committee for the Town of Andover.  He has served as President of both the North Eastern Massachusetts Municipal Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) and the Essex County Chiefs of Police Association. Chief Pattullo was instrumental in the establishment of the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission, Inc. and served as President of that organization since its inception through 2013. 

 

After retiring as Andover’s Police Chief in 2014, Mr. Pattullo was the Chief Operating Officer for Internal Security Associates. ISA works closely with many State, Local, and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies and has provided security for many high profile events such as the Boston Marathon and Sail Boston.  As the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Pattulllo oversaw the daily operations of numerous sites throughout Massachusetts with 200 +/- officers. 

 

Mr. Pattullo received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College in 1986 and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England College in 1998. He has attended the Law Enforcement Executive Development Series at the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as the Babson College Leadership Institute.

 

His many affiliations include the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Police Executive Research Forum, Massachusetts Chiefs of Police, and New England Association of Chiefs of Police. Mr. Pattullo also serves the Andover Federal Credit Union as its Executive Board President and was an Adjunct Faculty Member of Hesser College where he instructed on a wide variety of Criminal Justice topics.
