Windham NH - Town Administrator

The Town of Windham, New Hampshire (approx. population 16,000) seeks an experienced, proven executive level team leader to follow the incumbent, retiring after 34 years of service to the community. Windham is located along the southern NH border just 35 miles north of Boston and 20 miles south of Manchester. Given its location along I-93 and State Route 111, this affluent community boasts a thriving business environment, yet has retained its small-time appeal through good governance, thoughtful planning and preservation of natural assets. Windham has been one of the fastest growing communities in New Hampshire.

Working at the direction of the Board of Selectmen, the Town Administrator administers a budget of approx. $17.9 mil and the services provided by 87 FT/18 PT employees. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of modern personnel, finance, and grant management practices. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders in a meaningful way. Master’s degree in Public Administration or related field, and a minimum of seven years of municipal management experience OR equivalent combination of experience and education which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Salary range to $130k; starting salary commensurate with qualifications. The Town offers a competitive benefits package.
