Metro North Communications Center - Executive Director

The Metro North Regional Emergency Communications Center (MNRECC) which provides public safety communications and serves as the E911 PSAP for the City of Revere and the Town of Winthrop Massachusetts seeks to fill the position of Executive Director. The MNRECC serves a population of approximately 75,000 residents and is located in close proximity to Boston and the region’s economic centers. Revere is situated on Chelsea’s eastern border; Winthrop is adjacent to Logan Airport and both coastal communities are adjacent to Massachusetts Bay. MNRECC is just 6 miles from Downtown Boston.
The Executive Director will report to a 7-member Board of Directors. The MNRECC answers 12,200 911 calls annually and dispatches 34,200 Police incidents and 13,500 fire incidents annually. The MNRECC is a recognized public safety telecommunications leader and has an annual operating budget of $3.0 million.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead a team of 28 telecommunications professionals. Applicants must have or obtain 911 and CPR certification and have a minimum of eight years of public safety telecommunications experience, four of which are in a responsible supervisory position. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Emergency Management or a related field, and APCO certification are required.
Applicants must possess strong labor/management, leadership, fiscal management, policy development and communication skills (bilingual preferred). Excellent benefit package, salary is negotiable depending upon experience, qualifications and education. Salary range will be negotiated depending upon qualifications. Starting salary commensurate with qualifications.
