Thetford, VT (2,800 pop.) is seeking a seasoned, engaged, and collaborative leader to serve as its next town manager. The community has a rich history, and its 5 distinct villages are surrounded by beautiful natural assets. Located on the Vermont-New Hampshire border near the intersection of interstates 89 and 91, with easy access to rail, air, and public transportation, Thetford is just two hours from Boston, but only minutes from the academic opportunities, cultural attractions and sporting events at Dartmouth College, and the world-class medical facilities of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Thetford offers rural living with unparalleled quality of life in the Upper Valley Region. This is a hands-on position responsible for direction and oversight of all municipal operations including an authorized 12 full-time and 3 part-time positions. The manager works in cooperation with a 5 member Selectboard and is expected to be fully engaged with the community. A Bachelor’s degree is required (Master’s degree preferred) with progressively responsible public management experience. An equivalent combination of background and education will be considered.
