Raymond NH - Director of Planning & Community Development/Economic Development

The Town of Raymond (population 10,500), located along the Rt. 101 corridor in southeastern New Hampshire, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Planning & Community Development/Economic Development. Raymond is just a 20-minute drive to either Manchester, NH or the NH Seacoast and is only one hour from all the health, cultural and educational opportunities available in Boston, MA or the recreation and scenic beauty of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region.

Working under the general direction of the Town Manager and with a budget of $200K, the Director oversees 2 FT and 1 PT employees and provides management, leadership, and coordination to the planning, zoning, code enforcement, assessing and economic development activities of the Town. Must possess a service orientated attitude and a thorough knowledge of the land use operations and functions of a municipal land use department. The position coordinates all aspects of development projects along with a long-term planning emphasis related to the natural and cultural resources and the economic development of the Town.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Planning, Community Development, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, or related discipline, with a minimum of five years related experience, including two years in a municipality. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification desirable. Salary range to $90,000; starting salary commensurate with qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
